Brand New Vlog Series

For quite some time I've been following a few vloggers; people who capture their daily lives or give opinions on topics.  I enjoy seeing other people's perspectives.  I also enjoy following these particular people because they're thought provoking and encouraging. They use their platform for good. Which got me thinking, "I'd like to do that."  So, I have started and committed to a vlog series.  Every Tuesday you will get a video from me.  Guaranteed.  It's my way of being creative. I have to feed this beast. If not, it'll eat me alive.  So, please subscribe to my YouTube channel.  You can do so by clicking  HERE

For a while, I thought it was important to make a huge deal about releasing something.  I'd schedule it down to the date, time and had it coincide with something.  Now, I think there's something natural and organic about saying, "hey guys, here's something I just did" and letting you watch it when you want to.  I did that today for those of you who subscribe to my newsletter.  (If you don't, be sure to at the bottom of the site.) I shared the link to my next cover "Talking Body" with subscribers. It's not tagged or titled yet on YouTube, but who cares.  I just wanted to share with you all what my buddies and I came up with.  A special thanks to Derek Drye and Brent Lain for making this happen.  Also, a big shout out to TJ for letting me steal your equipment for a day.

If you live anywhere near me, some of these places might look familiar to you.  If you didn't catch it in the newsletter, I'm sure the link is floating around somewhere. If you can't find it, you'll be able to watch it tomorrow on the YouTube.

Be good to yourself and each other.

Turn the Other Cheek

I mean, is this a statement to take literal? If someone is physically attempting to harm us, do we protect ourselves and swing back, or do we take the blows? If someone is dragging our name in the mud because their view of us is skewed by ignorance and pride, do we just let it happen or do we stand up for what is truth?  I struggle with this.  I'm not passive in any way, but I am learning to be more choosy with my battles.  Not everyone will like you.  With everyone nowadays thinking they're philosophers and having the world and all the parts figured out, we are likely to offend, upset, even be considered criminal for what we do. I tell you this.  Actions speak louder than the hateful words you throw back at them to defend your name or the anonymous tweets they post or the fake names on message boards they hide behind.  Say things in love.  If you feel you were wronged, go to the doer and share that.  I bet you $1,000,000 they have a good reason for their act and can explain your concern and frustrations away.  Try it.  Just don't be passive, lazy pussies.  It's pretty simple. Be kind to people.  Do your best.

Oh, and if someone was swinging a physical fist at you, by all means, beat the crap out of them.  Don't turn the other cheek.  I think the verse means be wise in your actions/reactions.  Rationalize.
